This coming Saturday, November 23rd, 2013, in Ferndale, MI there will be a celebration of Winter Beer called FestivALE. This even is put on by the wonderful and ever so popular One-Eyed Betty's and is located in Downtown Ferndale on W. Troy Street. FestivALE will include Christmas Beers, Food, and Americana Music. The Christmas Beers include seasonal regulars along with many specialty brews from Bell's Brewery, Dark Horse Brewing Company, Short's Brewing Company and Arbor Brewing Company. The food will include delicious roasted animals such as Pig, Lamb, and Goat. The Beer starts flowing and the music starts playing at 12:00 pm. Tickets to this event can be purchased directly from One-Eyed Betty's or by going to buy tickets.
I purchased my ticket two weeks ago and am looking forward to the FestivALE at One-Eyed Betty's. I have been told that the tickets come with a commemorative glass that you can use to drink all the delicious beer. I hope this is as well organized as the Pig and Whiskey event this past summer. I love the fact that Ferndale throws these wicked awesome street festivals, they are one of the reasons I moved to this area.
Coinciding with FestivALE is the Ferndale Holiday Hoof. The Holiday Hoof includes an obstacle run and a fun walk and finishes with the Tree Lighting ceremony. This will be a most excellent event that shouldn't be missed. I will be there drinking and cheering on my brother, who is participating in the obstacle run.
