12 Beers of Christmas: Day 12

Merry Christmas folks. Its been a couple of days and I missed the official 12th beer of Christmas, and the days following. I was busy traveling out to Arizona to visit family and celebrate the holiday. I thought I would have more time to write, but I was busy with different activities during my vacation. Sorry for the delay, and I hope you enjoy the last of this series as we prepare for the new years.

For the twelfth day of Christmas my craft beer store gave to me, Black Butte Porter by Deschutes Brewery.

ABV: 5.2%

The Deschutes Brewery is based in Bend, OR and has a wonderful array of craft beers available. I was hoping to get my hands of this years Jubelale, but wasn't that lucky. I was able to grab a six pack of Black Butte Porter while on vacation in Arizona, which was very pleasant. The Porter poured as a dark beer, and as Deschutes flagship brand, it provides a great drinking experience. According to the Deschutes Brewery website, Black Butte defined Deschutes as a radical player. It provides a slight hop bitterness up front followed by a rich roasted chocolate finish. This beer has a smooth finish that gives it an intense flavor. This is a fantastic beer that has been awarded several medals from many different contests. If you can find this beer, or any beer by Deschutes, grab it when you can.

I hope you enjoyed the 12 Beers of Christmas series. I hope next year it will be as successful as this year. If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to leave them in the comments section.
