12 Beers of Christmas: Day 2

On the second day of Christmas my craft beer store gave to me, Short's Brew Cup A Joe Coffee Creme Stout.

ABV: 7.00%

Today is the second day of the 12 Beers of Christmas mini series for Bill's Beer Report. Overall it has been a good day. I spent the afternoon with my lovely dog Lucy. After stopping at Just Baked to drop my wife's laptop off we started to make our way to a park so that she could run around. Unfortunately the fenced in section of the park was off limits to dogs, kind of strange but oh well. I was able to find a legit dog park where we played fetch and she ran around with other dogs for a while. As I sit here typing she is passed out on the floor, dreaming of playing fetch.

To go along with my fun day, I have decided that the second beer of Christmas is the Cup A Joe Coffee Creme Stout by Short's Brewery. This is in honor of their record braking day at the grand opening of Detroit's HopCat. I don't drink coffee on a regular basis, it leaves me jumpy throughout the day. With that being said, I am a huge stout fan.

I'm a stout man,

Ski bi di bi di do bap do
Do bam do

Bada bwi ba ba bada bo
Baba ba da bo
Bwi ba ba ba do

This is a good stout, since I am not a coffee drinker, it doesn't rank in my top 10 stouts. This beer pours smooth with a rich dark color and little to no head. As I drink the beer there are no signs of lacing on the glass. With every sip of the beer I get rich notes of coffee in my nose followed by a taste to match. If I could wake up and drink a couple of these to start my day, I would. I guarantee it would help me get through work easier. I maybe less productive, but it would be easier to work for the 8 hours. I vote that hot coffee be replaced with Cup A Joe Coffee Creme Stout at the work place.

I am off to an ugly sweater party for the night. Which I think is an oxymoron when it comes to me, because any sweater I wear is anything but ugly. Drink on craft beer drinkers. Be safe out there.
