Milk Shake Stout by Rochester Mills Brewing Co.

The other day my brother and I met for lunch. We both live in the same city, but don't see each other too often due to that fact that we are both busy people. We decided we would check out the new BBQ spot in Ferndale, Zeke's Rock & Roll BBQ on 9 Mile Rd. As we bellied up to the bar for some grub and some beers I noticed that they had some local craft beers, including one beer that I haven't had in quite some time, Rochester Mill's MilkShake Stout. As my brother ordered his food, I believe a beef brisket sandwich, I ordered my first glass of the MilkShake Stout.

MilkShake Stout - Rochester Mills Brewing Co.

ABV: 5.00%

Look: 3.5
Smell: 3.5
Taste: 3.5
Feel: 3.5
Overall: 3.5

The MilkShake Stout poured very dark, almost black, with a little tan head. There was some minor lacing around the glass, but once it settled it dissipated. There was a rich aroma of toasted malts mixed with hints of coffee and vanilla. The taste was very roasted malts forward, but as it settles the coffee and vanilla present themselves very subtly. With the medium body and smooth finish I am happy that they had this on tap. I would definitely drink this beer again and will hopefully be making a trip to the brewery in the near future to have a fresh MilkShake Stout along with their amazing buffalo mac-n-cheese. They also have an Imperial MilkShake Stout that I would love to try.
