Episode 58 - Chris Coburn of The WAB

We are back after recovering from the Great American hangover caused by The Great American Beer Festival. I had a great time attending GABF and congratulations to all the medal winners from Michigan. One of the breweries right in my backyard, Roak Brewery in Royal Oak, MI won Bronze for English-Style India Pale Ale category of the competition with Live Wire. You can grab a Live Wire on draft at their Tap Room in Royal Oak as well as bars around town or you can bring it home with you with Live Wire in bottles at any local bottle shop. The one I have been going to is 9 and Hilton Market at the corner of 9 Mile and Hilton Road in Ferndale.

I did get some great interaction and interviews for the podcast that will be coming up in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. But today's episode is Chris Coburn from Woodward Avenue Brewery here in Ferndale, MI. I hung out with Chris at The WAB, as it's more affectionately known, enjoying one of his beautiful creations the Raspberry Cream Ale.

Chris took over as head brewery at The WAB at the beginning of 2016 and has been providing a high quality product. During the interview we talk about his history in brewing and how his restaurant experience has influenced his beer making style. We also get to talking about his hobbies like music and Vespas.

You can grab one of Chris's beers at The WAB off of Woodward Avenue in Ferndale but you can also catch him at this weekends Michigan Brewers Guild Fall Beer Festival happening Friday and Saturday October 21 - 22 at the Eastern Market in Detroit.
